Monterey Bay Poetry Festival
2003 Schedule

Chautauqua Hall (16th and Central Avenue) were adorned with jade sculptures carved by world-renowned jade sculptor Don Wobber of Pacific Grove. These sculptures, created from stone that Wobber brings up from the depths of Jade Cove in Big Sur, will be accompanied by the poetry of his wife, Donna Wobber.

Pacific Grove Middle School Poets / Monterey Bay Haiku Project
(15 minutes)

Description: Students from Sandra Jordan’s 8th grade class at Pacific Grove Middle School present their haiku about the Monterey Bay.

Whitney Latham Lechich Poetry Workshop Reading
(45 minutes)

Description: Poets read work generated in popular local workshop. Featured readers include Kitty Petruccelli, Sue Ellen Stringer, Tony Melanio, Stephanie Malcolm, Gabriel Days, Megan Lee, and more.

Bonnie Gartshore Memorial Tribute
(30 minutes)

Description: The Monterey Public Library staff is proud to honor Bonnie's memory with a reading of her poetry. The readers are Readers Services staff Kim Bui-Burton and Susan Hoffman (poets in their own right) and Special Services Coordinator, Jeanne McCombs.

Description: Young poets are finding their voices this year at Del Rey Woods School in Seaside. Under the direction of poet Patrice Vecchione students are writing reams of poetry. Voices like these you've just got to hear.
