afternoon, hwy 1
up the coast
winding cliffs of ocean
so much further onold oak pressed back
baby at the breast
of an old cotton dressbehind the kitchen
a sign, a wood -windows don't open
& papers fall out
the clouds or was itsomething dreamed
under the steep below- headlands fallen from the sea -
creekside rain
aside the empty,
rough-hewn benches in a row
(untitled)rain embroiders
the tide
in the silver-edged
Dungeness morningthe heron's wing
& my eye
are the same
hwy 101, ore.

coast rhody
rain
azalea
mindhigh grass
bending low
wet at the roots
& waiting
