Having To Be Here

to have left you distraught
in the limey night light of
of a moon not quite full
when your pain was as tangible
as a doughy mud in my fist
and walk away down the
sidewalk of a new street that
never should have been yours
but is yet will not be for long
further emboldened the notion
that this world will always
remind me of the sickening in
my heart and my disdain for
having to be here and close
to any human being ever again.
