Because Nowhere May Be Better Than NothingSo soft
your head on my lap last night,
yet tentative too,
we stayed apart
and together during the movie,
laughing, thankfully.
I looked around
and saw the loose ends
I should have mended,
I smelled your hair
and knew I should
have done it more often.
I felt the gap
on the couch
it was necessary, loathed.
My heart was warm
when you invited me
to your room to sleep,
I felt like we
were just getting together,
for the first time.
You came to me
to cuddle at
the end of the bed,
We saw the stars
and touched each other
wondering of other worlds.
and restlessly
we knew that a
new world was upon us,
as I looked up
through your window,
I was upside down.
then I dreamed
you were away,
and I had nowhere to go,
So I went nowhere
hoping you'd
follow me there again.
Because nowhere
may be better
than nothing,
yet desperation
always coddles
the past, and fears the future...
I humbly touched
your skin
when I awoke.
